Heather Benson stands as the esteemed owner and lead prosthetic makeup designer at Armour FX Studio, bringing a distinguished record as a 3-time award-winning special makeup effects artist with IATSE 798 union accreditation. Heather's journey as a self-taught artist is marked by extensive training at the renowned Stan Winston School of Character Arts and a mentorship under Don Lanning, a master sculptor, at D3 Studios in Burbank, California. Graduating with Honors from the University of Houston with a BFA in Sculpture, Heather has showcased her exceptional artwork in various museums and galleries across the USA, including appearances at IMATS and Monsterpalooza.
Having earned her Union card in 2016, Heather's expertise spans diverse areas of makeup, ranging from prosthetic makeup effects design to crafting special makeup effects such as monsters, creatures, and hyper-realistic trauma. Her artistic prowess extends to collaborating with top actors, where she excels in creating both beauty and character design looks for film and TV shows.
